Course Overview

CPSM(Certified Professional in Supply Management) is the internationally recognized certificate for purchase · supply experts overrun by the Institute for Supply Management(ISM) of the U.S. The role of purchase & supply team in corporations has been gaining more importance under current economic circumstances rapidly changing; thus, there has been a fleet increase in the number of employees of large corporations obtaining CPSM certification. Moreover, the certificate is well-known universally and is a representative certificate in the areas of purchasing and supply.

  • What is CPSM? CPSM, introduced in 2008, is the new form of previous C.P.M (former certificate for purchasing expert), which not only deals with practical studies on purchasing but enriches applicants' ability in management, leadership, distribution strategic purchasing and other skills required for understanding in the bigger picture.
  • ISM (Institute for Supply Management)? ISM, established since 1915, is renowned institution for purchasing management, and is responsible for C.P.M and CPSM. Famous for Purchasing & Supply Management and Material Management, the institute is also recognized for overall education and research. The institute's goal is to create the global standards of purchasing and supply chain through certifications such as C.P.M (introduced in 1974) and CPSM (introduced in 2008).
Certificate Advantage

Certificate Requirements

  • More than 3 years of work experience in purchasing, supply chain, SCM, materials, production, logistics, distribution and other related fields or a 4 year undergraduate degree
  • More than 5 years of work experience in purchasing, supply chain, SCM, materials, production, logistics, distribution and other related fields (includes one without a undergraduate degree)
    * Certification obtainable if one meets one of the above requirements (as of Feb 2014)
    * Available to take the exam even if one does not meet the career requirement
    (CPSM Exam Score is valid for four years (3 years/ 1year grace period),
    Available to apply for certificate if one meets the career requirement within four years after getting a score.
