Established as
Korea's first professional business school,
the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences and Technologies received its approval for official university standing from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development in 2003. At the end of 2003, Professor David N. Smith, former Vice-Dean of Harvard Law School, was appointed aSSIST's president becoming the first foreigner to become a president/dean of a university (undergraduate or graduate) in Korea. With objectives to foster experts in sustainability management anticipated to motivate Korea's growth, aSSIST focuses on thorough and customized practical education.
aSSIST's MBA programs are full-time courses and two programs are currently in operation: the Governance Leadership MBA(MBA-GL) that cultivates leaders equipped with integrative skills for combining economics with politics and the Financial Engineering MBA(MBA-FE) that offers cutting-edge financial engineering technology fresh from Wall Street when George Washington University Professors visit Korea in person. Also, with aims to become a globalized professional institute of business education, the aSSIST Graduate Institute of Management(GIM) aims to foster fine & global experts in management for businesses through global education on business management and joint programs with other universities overseas.
